I’ve been sloppily bookmarking by always using speed dial. Now I want to organise by creating a set of folders for these bookmarks. But when I create a new folder I cannot move bookmarks into it.

      Grateful for help!

I have not noticed that problem, but when I first began using Webkit Opera, I imported another browser's bookmarks into it, and found that the whole list of folders was not being displayed from the main bookmarks menu. I moved all the bookmarks folders into a menu on the bookmarks toolbar, where they were all displayed. Several Opera versions later, I was unable to move anything back into the main bookmarks menu again, so I left them as they were. Opera bookmarks still have bugs.

Thanks for this: sounds like a good reason to ditch Opera ....

Slimjet is also a chromium browser, and its bookmarking works better. It is also not as sluggish as Opera has become. Opera is a bit better at running videos, but plugins are being phased out now, so that will not make much difference soon. Slimjet also has settings to increase user privacy, just as Opera does. Its interface is much easier to read as well. In fact, I am typing this reply using Slimjet.
