Cannot add languages for spellcheck in Opera version 60.0.3255.151

When trying to add a language in advanced settings, I see the blue button for adding a language.
However, when I click on that button nothing happens; it appears to be dead.
So, effectively I cannot add languages.
As I tried some older Opera versions also and because I searched for similar problems, it appears to be a real long standing issue.Please help!
