Instant default browser

I first tried Opera for Windows quite a few years ago, using it as a back-up browser.

Just received an invitation from SourceForge.net, touting "Explore the New Standard of Browsing". So, I thought it might be time to give it another try.. Surely after all these years, there must be a lot of improvement to the program.

I downloaded and ran the installer, which promptly set my default Browser to Opera, without even asking. Wow, you guys are as bad as MS when it comes to this sort of thing. It was worth registering for this forum, if nothing else but to air this concern. As for Opera itself, instant uninstall, as making user setting changes without permission is a huge no-no in my book.
