Opera opens to a white reduced screen and stops responding.

Lenovo W520 16GB RAM 1TB Samsung EVA 840 SSD - Win 10 latest updates.
Machine is fine no other issues.
Usual run of the mill software installed Office etc etc.
On clicking on the Opera icon the startup sequence initialises producing a white rectangular window and then after about 30 seconds stops responding and displays an error message in the top left hand corner of the window "Speed Dial - Opera (Not responding)"
I have done all the usual stuff suggested by trawls across the net.
The application WILL start properly in Safe Mode, but days of closing and reopening sundry applications and services have not resulted in any improvement. So, now I am here. Any takers for this one? Your input would be most appreciated and thank you in advance.
