120% CPU Usage when the browser is idle

I'm not sure what causes it, but after Opera has been running for a while, it will hit start using 120 - 130% CPU until the browser is quit. I've run Opera with and without extensions or tabs open, it still happens. I'm running Mac OS X 10.14.2.

Is it constantly making new connections? My firewall has caught it doing that with version 60.
