Facebook isn't working properly

When I go to facebook and I see the notifications, I click on it and all I get is a spinning wheel and it never pops up. I also can't see any messages from messenger. Any idea what I need to do to fix this? I have to go back to using Safari for facebook... I'd rather use Opera.
