Pop-Up Links Opening in New Windows, Not New Tabs

Hey there, I'm running into an issue with Opera that has only seemed to crop up in the past week or so. Basically, when I use certain sites—particularly Getty Images, but also Google Analytics—I'll click on certain links and they used to previously open in new tabs when fullscreen, but in pop-up windows when not in full screen. But now, they open up in new windows in all cases, which is frustrating behavior, particularly on Getty Images. It doesn't appear to be a target="_blank" issue (Gmail links work fine for example), but an issue with links whose behavior is set with Javascript.
Is there a way to prevent this behavior or revert it to what it did previously?
