Sidebar Not Staying Unpinned

Windows 8.1 OS.
As of a week ago I noticed the left sidebar was present on my Opera browser. Not normal for me. I go to Sidebar settings and turn it off and it is unpinned.
Later in the day it is back. There it is... left side of the screen the sidebar is present. I go back to settings and the switch is in the "ON" position again. turn it off again, and again and again.
Any idea why the settings switch keeps turning back on for unpin sidebar?
