New Opera update

Opera had to be updated today as it wouldn't load any websites, having spent far, far too long resetting all my preferences I now find that even after completely shutting down, quitting, closing every vestige of Opera, when I open a new session it reopens all the windows from the previous session. Also I am suddenly finding that there is a verify box to navigate through on each new tab! Is there any way to resolve these issues please
