Authentication failure

  • Hello.

    I am excited about using Opera Mail, but I am encountering a setup problem. My Comcast account set up with no problem. However, setting up a mail account that I have with Daily Razor fails each time with an authentication error. The server is xldz2.dailyrazor.com and I have the ports set correctly; my login info is also correct. However, Opera each time returns an authentication error.

    Any ideas?

    It should be port 465 ot 587 with TLS checked for the outgoing server and port 993 + TLS for IMAP or port 995 + TLS for POP for the incoming server. Is that what you have?

    On the servers tab in the account's properties, retype the username and password just for good measure. The server may require that your username is your email address. If so, the @... part needs to be included in the username.

    Besides that, do you have anti-virus with an email scanner? If so, turn the email scanner off to test if it works then.

    Maybe the log will be more specific on what's wrong.

    Download and install Thunderbird and setup your account in it. Take note exactly of the settings. Then, use those settings (and ports etc.) in Opera.
