Just downloaded Opera Mail. In my Apple Mail I have more than 10 IMAP accounts and more that 25 000 email. I need to import all this, and keeping the mailbox structure. This is a must to use migrate to Opera Mail. I tried the email import option, but was only able to import one mailbox at the time.

Is there a way to import everything in one go?

Just set up the 10 IMAP accounts in Opera. All the headers for the messages will be fetched from the server so that you can interact with them. You'll see all your IMAP folders.

Opera Mail can't import locally-cached IMAP messages into an IMAP account, so the above is your only option. In fact, if you have the option to import IMAP accounts from Opera Mail and Opera Mail gives you the option to also import messages, you should uncheck "import messages" as it won't help. They'll be imported but ignored by Opera and Opera will still get the ones from the server.

If you skip importing the messages, importing the account settings will go fast even if you have to do it one account at a time. But, I suggest you avoid that as Opera's import wizards are known to be buggy.

So, just set up the IMAP accounts in Opera and don't import anything.

If Apple mail allows you to archive IMAP messages where they're removed from the server and only exist locally, you can import them (if you can convert them into mbox format if they're not already), but you can only import them into a local POP account (POP account without any server settings kind of like a local folders account). You'll lose structure there though as Opera doesn't support folders. It uses views which are like saved searches made on the database.

          Thanks.

I have tried these options. Using Mac by the way.

I started setting up two accounts. Messages was downloaded, but a set of e-mail lists was created without being asked, and e-mail seems to have landed there 🙂 The show also under the uppermost boxes, '' unread" etc.

I have about 30 subfolders, and if there are no way to import account settings and folder structure, I think I will have to wit untilm I have more time experimenting. But thanks for your help. 🙂

That's normal. Opera automatically detects list headers in messages, creates Mailing list views for each list. In "All Messages/Unread" (or any other view), you can click the "settings for this view" icon on the toolbar above the message list, goto "show" and uncheck "show mailing lists".

IMAP subfolders? If so, that should work just fine.

            Understood. Take your time.
