Facebook sidebar: desktop notification checkbox uncheckable

Hi there everyone!

I'm trying out the FB Messenger app via the sidebar and everything works great except for the desktop notifications checkbox. If I click the sound checkbox, that checks and unchecks but if I click the desktop notifications checkbox, it detects my click(the checkbox pulses) but it's uncheckable.

Is there something else I need to do to be able to enable desktop notifications?
