Memory Usage on Opera for the same website is way higher than Safari on the Mac

I was noticing in Activity Manager that I was using a lot of memory in Opera. I went to the Developer Task Manager option and saw that Facebook was using almost 1 GB of memory which is reflected in the Activity Manager in one of the Opera Helper processes. When I checked Facebook in Safari it's only using 281 MB. Are there any settings I can change to reduce the memory usage in Opera?
