Please add Qwant to the default search engines

It would be really great if you guys can add Qwant to the default search engines list. I've been using it pretty regularly for the past 2 weeks and it's actually really good (also privacy is a huge plus, because they have to respect EU laws, just like Opera).
There are two options now, you can install their extension or add Qwant to the "other search engines" list, but then you have to use a keyword. Purely anecdotal, of course, but I've seen more and more people using Qwant. Can you please add it?

You can use a Workaround.
- Go to opera://flags/#new-md-settings - Address bar -
- Enable it - Restart
- Go to Edit Search engines
Will be default except for SpeedDial.

@zalex108 thank you, but if it doesn't work for speed dial, then is almost useless to me.

@zalex108 I'm stupid. It works great (I thought it doesn't work in URL bar on the speed dial page). Thank you!

So...
Qwant is now the default search engine for Brave browser in France and Germany. Can we finally get an option to set is as default in Opera? It's a great search engine that respects our privacy and if I can't use it in Opera, I'll be forced to switch to Brave (and I really don't want that, I love Opera).

PLEASE add Qwant to default search engines !
I really was dumbfounded (and disappointed !) when I realized you can't choose the search engine you want as default !
Also the instant search (alt+space) is a great feature....but totally useless if it does not use the correct default search engine in my opinion (therefore I don't use it)

Qwant has become the default search engine for the French armed forces:

Dear Opera devs, it's time for Qwant. You need to add it to the list of the default search engines or simply allow us to add it ourselves.

Eight months later and we still don't have Qwant for the desktop version (and/or Opera Mobile) . It's available for Opera Touch and I love it. Come on, guys, can you at least explain what's taking so long?

In the beginning of this topic, zalex108 presented a “workaround”.
I tried and tried, but it doesn’t work for me.
Should it still be working? (I might be doing something wrong).

Since has been posted, I think they fixed the hole for the workaround.
Also, the flag has been disabled, at least on Dev doesn't appear anymore."You cannot know the meaning of your life until you are connected to the power that created you". · Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi

Not allowing your users to set ANY search engine they want is a problem. Opera needs to become more open to suggestions and they really should communicate more with us. Tell us why you can't do something immediately. Tell us your ideas. Respond to our ideas.
I was here when they released Opera Mini for BlackBerry. Good times, so many discussions, ideas, the dev team was communicating all the time. These forums are now basically dead and I find that really sad. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Opera, but communication is something they really need to work on.

To be honest:
The main and only reason I went back from Opera to Firefox, is this search engine issue.
This, and the fact that this forum does not send notifications per e-mail, explains why I see the replies only now.
Thank you very much for your explanation, zalex108.
We’ll have to wait for maybe a change in the future.

what about search encrypt?
It's better because it's encrypted and doesn't pass any law.
