Opera opens very slowly

Lately I've been watching a white screen for 5-10 seconds and then another 5-10 second waiting for Opera to open my homepage. I have posted in previous threads, and am unable to find them. Sooo, I run a top rated Virus program and a malware program. Malware bytes has a secondary program to look for adware and pups. So I ran the program called adware. It found a pup and on reboot Opera came back to full/fast speed. Must be that pup was interfering with the boot up of Opera?
