Sends nothing; Opera Mail oblivious of attempts

Standalone PC, Win10 stock Defender firewall explicitly ruled to allow Opera.
Composed msg content is brief text, typed.
Known good recipient addresses, one per attempt.
Outbox never has contained anything.IMAP
smtp-mail.outlook.com
tried ports 25, 587, 465
secure connection TLS
authentication tried Auto and AUTH PLAIN
tried queued and unqueuedOutgoing Log File=etc, etc. produces no file.

I think the outgoing servername is incorrect. I use smtp.outlook.com with Opera Mail and it sends fine...

smtp-mail.outlook.com + port 587 + TLS checked (which will use StartTLS in this case) should work fine (and does for me in Opera Mail).

If no log is produced, that usually means that Opera Mail didn't even get to the point of trying to establish a connection.
Do you have your email address set in the "mail address" field on the general tab in the account's properties?
