Is New better?

It seems every time Opera is updated more things are broken. Either it's no longer supported (I presume?) or just broken. I ran into a problem with Giant Food stores website. You can ad coupons to your rewards card. Worked fine until the last 2 updates to Opera. When you click the "raised" link it starts it's 3 dot thing in motion but will not load the item to the card. This is a general site. It's happening on a lot of sites now.
It seems to me that the various browsers are not letting the USER decide what to use. I have run into some sites that use Flash or whatever, but have the extension to automatically enable it.
There seems to be way too much killing of things in the browser, TOO EARLY. I hear the excuse that the newer browsers aren't supporting this or that. Or another excuse is that the websites need to update. Huh? So what am I supposed to do? Contact all the places that now DO NOT work in Opera and tell them they have to update their site? I would get laughed at.
Why is it that websites put up the warning You are using Opera or Chrome alternate and the website might not work right for you. Use MS Edge, IE or Firefox or something. So exactly why is anyone using Opera anymore? I have come across quite a few sites that bring up this message. I am confused. lol
I like Opera and have been using it for a while now. However, I did grudgingly bring up MS Edge and went to the Giant store website and wonder of wonders it loaded the coupons on the card. Why is that? lol
