Middle Click on Release, Rather than on Down

This is an incredibly petty thing that bothers me nonetheless. Is it possible to change the middle click on tab behavior so the tab does not close until the middle mouse button has been released? Currently, the tab closes as soon as the button is pressed.
Opera seems to be one of very few browsers/applications that behaves this way, and despite it being such a tiny issue it just feels strange. I had a search around the forum and settings to no avail, so I apologize is this has been answered already.
