Opera using more memory compared to firefox, chrome, vivaldi, and edge

Is there a memory leak or something going on within the last few builds? This becomes increasingly worse as you create more tabs. Then it spikes in memory and sometimes causes minor but noticable hitches aka freezing for a second or less here and there. I removed all but 4 extensions and that made zero impact. checked via the browsers task manager, and it just says the issue is the browser, with some tabs using more than others, but all are using well over 100mb of memory. Opened 50 tabs of different random non video websites, and memory spiked near 100%. Close the browser and It drops to 5% memory usage from desktop windows etc.
no issue with cpu, disk, or network from what i can tell. thoughts? or should i move back to firefox or something else until opera gets that portion resolved?
