Opera doesn't remember window size and position if it was closed without any tabs (except Speed Dial) on Linux Mint

I have a habit to maximize the window of my browser. Since on Windows Opera remembers its last-closed window status, I don't have to maximize it by hand every time I start it. However, on my Linux Mint laptop, Opera remembers window status only when it was closed with at least one open tab. In other words, if it is not the case, Opera always starts in a non-maximized, centered window. This seems a bug. Would you please fix it? Thanks in advance.

I can confirm this issue happens on my PC as well. Linux Mint 18.3, 64-bit.

you can 'fix' this in the settings by ticking "continue where i left off'
[i realize its not a ideal way to fix it]

I know it's an old thread, but hey.....For me, two solutions are working:
1 - For MAXIMIZED window edit Opera launcher -->right click on icon/ Properties/Application tab/ field Command: opera %U --start-maximized
2 - For CUSTOM window size edit Opera launcher -->right click on icon/ Properties/Application tab/ field Command: opera --window-position=118,64 --window-size=1682,951 %U
That sizes are actual settings for my desktop.I'm on KDE Neon (Bionic 18.04), Opera 56.0.3051.31
Cheers
