Opera v52.0.2871.27 - frequent tab freezes and hangs tab and then browser

Not sure when it updated last but it auto-updates and I see that Opera now routinely hangs on several sites. The sites typically have some media/javascript almost always.

The tab is stuck loading and you cannot click anything. If you let it get past 10s or so you cannot even close the tab anymore.

Opera is my favorite and the best browser but I'm unhappy with stability recently. Also I'd really like these features -

• drop down in url list to pick sites instead of always typing them in
• fancier extensions like TileTab in Firefox where you can tile several opera tabs in the same window so you can see 2 or more tabs side by side within the view window of Opera. This is so useful when having 2 tabs. Now I have to do 2 windows and do it which is so stupid given Firefox could do it with extension (not sure if FF Quantum broke that feature). I'm sick of developers breaking things and pretending that they know what I want and how it should be.
