Android Opera doesn't open Home Screen shortcuts from Chrome

Decided to dump Chrome on my Android 5.x (Lollipop) and go with Opera but find previous Home Screen shortcuts make by Chrome don't open. Ones created by Opera work, but what's the diff?

Alternately, there doesn't seem to be a way to change default browsers in Lollipop, No browsers show up in "Default applications", Opera Settings doesn't have that option.

What am I missing?

Can that ability/function be added to Opera Settings?
