Opera 36 issues

I sometimes get a cover over the screen when using google to search for stuff. See picture. What is causing this?

Ah thanks!
I'm using Opera 36 too (are you still using Windows XP?) and looking at that page is fine for me.
I think that darkening of the screen, which I have seen before but can't reproduce now, may be because it's trying to bring up a pop-up. Do you have the pop-up blocker on?

@davehawley Hi, I am running windows vista HP on a 32 bit system. I run adblock plus on here and nothing else. I use firefox as a second browser and do not have this problem.
