Extensions Bar Redesign looks like Web 1.0

I recently updated Opera, and the clean looking icons on the extensions were replaced by a blocky, web 1.0 design. What happened here?
The extensions bar and the V7 Session/tab manager is the reason I started using Opera over Chrome, Vivaldi, Safari, etc.
I know it sounds irrational, but this small but unattractive design tweak makes it less appealing to use as a feature.
Can this be user-customized? Can I request that the next version fix the UI?

@backside9 Seen this too, and was at first confused what this was. Mine looks the same, with the exception that on Opera Developer; ”The sidebar” and the Extension Bar have switched places comparing to your screenshot.

I second this. This is driving my crazy, and I really hope it is fixed soon.

Still no fix for this? I've used Opera in Ubuntu and the extensions bar looks normal. What gives?
