Delay when loading Speed dial FVD

Hi all

Installed Speed dial FVD as the preferred extension for new tabs, but every time I click the new tab icon Opera loads the standard, built-in speed dial for a second or so before overlaying the FVD version. Appreciate this isn't the end of the world, but it's damn annoying. Any known fix?
