Did anyone encounter problems with the build-in mouse gestures?

Since Opera 51, the mouse gesture for closing a tab ( slide down and then to the right ) doesn't work correctly for me. Sometimes it works as intended but most of the time it just doesn't work at all or only after several tries.
Before Opera 51 it ran smoothly. I tried a clean install, reset profil/browser etc...
I appreciate your help or suggestions.
Opera 51 broke so many things for me. Mouse gestures, it's not keeping me logged into youtube, closing tabs feels sluggish from time to time...
I'm really thinking about changing the browser.
