F6 hotkey strange behaviour

Every browser I've ever used you can hit F6 and start typing to enter url, or the default search engine. In Opera this occasionally works, but it usually just bounces the active location around a few places including the opera menu. Any way to make it function normally?

@joe7dust Yes -- go to "Settings," "browser," "shortcuts," "configure shortcuts," and add F6 to the shortcut "Focus address bar." (F6 is already in use for "Focus next pane," and F8 is used for "Focus address bar"; what I did was swap them.)
