Use speed dial extension?

I'm trying to use an extension speed dial in place of Opera's (https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/speed-dial-2-new-tab/jpfpebmajhhopeonhlcgidhclcccjcik?utm_source=chrome-app-launcher-info-dialog) because it syncs/backs up my dials and restores them should I have to reinstall the browser or if things get wonky and something gets corrupted. As far as I can tell, I can't do that with Opera. Anyways, the extension installs just fine however, I can't seem to get Opera to recognize it as a start page or a new tab. I've tried replacing the start page with chrome://newtab (which works in Chrome) or opera://newtab, but Opera doesn't recognize it.

Any suggestions?

I found a way to back up the speed dial and no long need the extension. Consider this thread SOLVED.
