Trying to open .swf related links results in downloading

For example In my opera browser I would type:
Psuedo Example:
www.example.com/filename.swf -> results in swf file being download instead of displaying it in the browser.
Real world example:
http://wwwimages.adobe.com/www.adobe.com/swf/software/flash/about/flash_about_793x170.swf
putting the in the site url section would result in this file being download and not being displayed like a web page.
If anyone could please help me that would be awesome.
Note: I think some type of shortcut key may have caused this. -

looking further into the topic I've noticed google chrome now does the same thing, my note can be disregarded as well. Only noticed firefox actually loads the swfs currently in the browser.

You can still enable an swf application to open (run) in the browser if you go to Settings, search for Flash and select Allow sites to run Flash.
