Apart of the already said, network switch off before Opera's start.

For those unsatisfied with Opera's start full auto loading tabs, I would like to recommend CleanMem, a piece of software that could help a lot.

Just take a look at settings and enable the global hotkey "Shift + F1" (or any other combination) and play with it, (mostly for free version).
