Will Not Sync

Can't get Opera mini to sync on on iphone.
Works fine on Macbook but always refuses on iphone, “can not sync - try later”. Tried deleting opera account and opening a new one, tried deleting mini and reinstalling, tried new password, updated iOS. VPN on / off/ sideways / upside down. Being trying for a week and must have tried every possible setting.
Really dont want to retreat to Firefox as opera is so good at everything else - Any suggestions
