VPN not working

I am running Opera 45.0.0.255225696(PGO)on Windows 7 32 bit. I have closed my firewall and other security software as well as Opera extensions and tried and get nothing. I can turn the VPN on and the little button turns blue so it indicates it is on but I can't connect to any website. When I click on a link or bookmark Opera tries to find and load the site for a very long time before I get something like this.
