Unable to play news videos

Operating system is linux MX16 (fully updated) and Opera is playing videos from sources such as YouTube, streaming on line movies etc, but it will not play videos from several news networks such as FoxNews.com.
In addition to Opera being installed, Firefox and Chromium are installed on the same OS and both will play the same video file that Opera will not play. What is displayed is the video frame with normal buttons at the bottom, blank box where the video should be.
Flash is version 25.0.0.171 and PepperFlash is not installed.I prefer to use Opera but this problem is a stopper for me.

For the videos that are on html5 and they do not play, blame opera's poor html5 support. Since mx linux is debian based, you can not install chromium-codecs-ffmpeg-* like you would on ubuntu (and any ubuntu based distro), so you are stuck. Unless mx linux does package chromium-codecs-ffmpeg-* independently from debian.
For the flash part, you have to install pepper flash if you want flash on opera. The one you, the npapi one, is for firefox and the lesser known ones (epiphany etc), and does not work on chromium based browsers, opera included.

Follow up:
Now my work around. Added Opera extension to 'Open in Chrome'. Simple to right click on video in question, select 'Open Link in Google Chrome'. This will satisfy me.
