Why Open the Web?
Despite the connecting purpose of the Web, it is not entirely open to all of its users.
When used correctly, HTML documents can be displayed across platforms and devices.
However, many devices are excluded access to Web content. -

There's no way to rebuild the database short of renaming the mail folder, adding the accounts back in (the same order as you did before would be best) and using "Menu -> settings -> import and export -> import mail -> import generic mbox -> add folder" to import the store/accountN folders in the renamed mail folder into their corresponding accounts (where N is the number for the account as seen in accounts.ini). You'll have to recreate labels and resubscribe to feeds. But, it's the only way to be sure things are fixed.
You can go into opera:config though and set "Mail Database Consistency Check Time" under the mail section to 0, save, close opera and tell it to run a check. It will search and fix what it can. The results will be in recovery.log in the mail folder.

What version of 12.x are you using? I forget when it was fixed, but there was a bug where having more than 5000 indexes in index.ini would cause mail to crash. Usually right away though. The problem is fixed in 12.16 at least (should be fixed way before then too, but I don't remember when).
Just as a test, you could rename index.ini while Opera is closed. Then, start Opera and close Opera to see if it doesn't crash anymore. If it doesn't, the problem is in index.ini.
Find the sessions folder and delete autosave.win if it's there.
Also, click on the wrench icon on the mail panel toolbar and reset the mail panel to defaults.
I wonder if Opera Mail on OS X will get x64 bit support, Sandbox support (& XProtect check of files if it doesn't have it right now).
Doesn't appear Opera Mail (whether the standalone or Opera 12.16) is being worked on anymore.
(I have sent Opera over 150 crash reports via the Crash Reporter (which the text is wrong as it is for the browser 12.x not the Mail app).

Was on 11.10 when Opera 11.10 rebuilt the mail database (So I know it can be done), Opera Mail got the database from 12.16 (on Opera 20 now) http://www.opera.com/computer/mail is a separate app now

O.K. Thanks for clarifying. I misinterpreted:

But, no matter, Opera Mail 1.0 is just Opera 12.16 with some browser parts hidden. So, Opera Mail 1.0 works the same as 12.16 pretty much. But, Opera Mail was never finished. The fact that the crash reporter text isn't correct is just one of the issues.

Opera can't rebuild its database that keeps track of mail. You can delete the lexicon folder though and it'll rebuild the search index database. But, all that's for is searching. It won't rebuild omailbase.dat which is what keeps track of messages in the store folder in the mail folder. It also won't rebuild the indexer files which keep track of threading and what messages are in what views.
The only time Opera has done what you might consider a rebuild of the database was when the structure/format/features of the database changed in a new version where the new version converted the old database to the new. Opera doesn't have the capability to delete the database and build a new one based on the messages in the store folder. Even if it did, it'd just be the same as renaming the mail folder, adding your accounts back in and importing the old message like suggested earlier.

That's just the result of a database check it writes the results to that file). It can repair minor indexer and database errors. It doesn't actually rebuild the databases though.
As said here though, you can trigger the check yourself and see if it fixes the problems again. From that part of the log, it shows the database was fine at that time and that it was just the [indexer])http://www.reddit.com/r/operabrowser/wiki/m2tips/mail_folder_structure), which would cause the list of messages in one or more views to be inaccurate (missing messages, ghost messages or messages that should be in there).

I did it year ago,
It might be
Mail Database Consistency Check Time=0 which I have tried but it is doing nothing (even set it to -1)
Tho one of the Opera updates it did do a rebuild

Sent Opera about 300+ crash reports of the 2 crashes
Makes it kinda hard to use Opera Mail (also the reddit post is now a 404)
