Q:How do I disable updates on a Mac?

A: You can disable updates by setting a default setting, like this from the terminal:

 defaults write com.operasoftware.Opera OPDisableAutoUpdate true

Q: Where do I get old versions?

A: Currently, ftp://ftp.opera.com/pub/opera/desktop. Sadly, these downloads are insecure. (discussion)
