using Microsoft Flicks with Opera versions newer than 36

I have a Windows 8.1 Pro machine with an active digitizer (tablet form factor but otherwise a full-featured Win 8.1 computer), and I use the built-in Flicks feature constantly. (Flicks is fairly unknown even though it has been part of Windows going back to at least Windows 7, probably since it's only enabled on machines with active digitizers since an active stylus is required for use.)
In typical Microsoft fashion, Flicks does not work with their own browsers (IE & Edge), but worked beautifully in Opera through at least Opera 36. However, it does not work in newer versions of Opera. Flicks still works in Firefox, but I find Opera is faster & leaner on my Win 8.1 tablets, so Opera was my preferred tablet browser – until Flicks support was removed.
Are there any Opera versions newer than 36 that still allow Flicks, or, since I didn't see anything in any of the change logs about removing Flicks support, was it an accidental omission that can be restored in future versions of Opera?
Thank you
