Hello everyone,
I have a fresh linux box which comes with chromium as default browser.
With chromium i can play gifs on facebook and other sites, but on Opera 42.0.2393.94 i can play gifs on all sites but on facebook. It just give me a white box when i click on gif.
Checked the settings, and its set to play "allow sites to run flash".Please help, i don't want to switch browser

GIFs on Facebook are not really GIFs! They are converted to MP4 videos, as they are much more smaller and bandwidth efficient. Are you able to play H.264/MP4 video here: http://www.quirksmode.org/html5/tests/video.html ? If not please install chromium-codecs-ffmpeg-extra package that should add support for this codecs.

No i am not able to play it, but i can in chromium. How am i able to play in chromium but not in opera???
