      Hi,
The title says it all. Whenever I open a new private window, be it from shortcut or from the dropdown menu, opera opens a blank window for a short while, then crashes.
This is a new computer, freshly installed everything (opera first), and only thing I did was to import my bookmarks from my previous computer (which has the same version of opera and works just fine). I tried reinstalling and opening a private window without importing my bookmarks, but it crashes nonetheless.

Only difference I can see is the fact that here, opera is installed on an SSD, not a HDD. Otherwise, everything is pretty much the same.

Would anyone know of any possible fix please?

PS: Sorry if this has been discussed previously, but the search feature on the forum seems not to work for me, it always drives me back to the homepage of the forums..

Hi, I have same problem (with HD, not SSD), Opera 40.0.0.230817094 .

I dropped Opera 2 years ago (I think) and am trying it anew.
This is the first time I tried using private windows and it crashed a few seconds later.
The only thing I see is I have a heavy speeddial definition.

        Thanks for help.

Ok, I reinstalled it over the previous one (didn't uninstall), the installer said something about updating it and stuff, and although it's still the exact same version, this did fix it somehow.

          Hope that helps, jbra
