Import bookmarks appears to work but doesn't

I've returned to Opera after a long absence. I used the import feature to get my bookmarks from Firefox. I got a message that the import was successful, but there is nothing at all in the bookmarks display. Are they there but I just don't know how to find them? Any other explanations?

Hi. What I did was go to the Opera Menu, go to Bookmarks, open Show All Bookmarks. You should see Unsorted Bookmarks. If so, go there. What I did was on the Bookmarks Bar, add a new folder. Make sure you check the Bookmarks Bar so you see the Bar. I named mine Favorites, but name it whatever you want. OK, now refresh the Bookmarks page. You should see your new folder down where the Bookmarks Bar is listed in the Bookmarks page. Go back to your Unsorted Bookmarks and select all your bookmarks and copy them to the new folder. You should now see all your bookmarks when you go to the Bookmarks Bar and when you click on your new folder, you will see your bookmarks. I keep my original bookmarks in the Unsorted Bookmarks because that way I have a backup in case something happens. So I copy and not cut.I wish Opera would have a better Favorites Bookmark Bar that automatically adds your imported bookmarks straight to it, but it never has for me. I have to do it this way to get them. Hope this helps.

There was an issue with the Firefox bookmarks import. It should be fixed with the most recent release - please make sure your version is 40.0.2308.81 and see if it works for you now.

To sunshinydays comment, there is nothing in Unsorted Bookmarks.
To idrin's comment, I already have the version you mentioned.
Any more ideas?
