Opera fails to load, or takes a long time to load, PDF within the browser

  • I am using Opera 40 on a Windows 10 OS. I am trying to open invoices for my orders on Amazon.com. The invoice opens from a button on the Order Details page. Either they take a very long time to load (30 seconds), or they don't load at all, in which case I get the following message:

    "We're sorry! An error occurred when we tried to process your request."

    If I try to save the linked content to my computer instead of opening and printing it, it doesn't fail, but it takes even longer for the SAVE dialog box to come up. However, when I go to the saved files and open them (which uses Opera, and not Adobe, to do so), they open within a second.

    Incidentally, I tried using IE instead, and got the same results. This makes me think that the problem is not with Opera, but with my computer. Does anyone have any ideas? Or is there a way I can force my browser to open the PDF using Adobe instead of inside the browser? Maybe that would work better?
