Replaced ADR files won't work with Opera 64-bit?

I deleted the bookmarks and notes adr files, to a new install of Opera, and replaced them with some old ones I had from backup. Opera now won't load the information the files hold. What loads is the what I had in the files that I replaced. I've restarted Opera several times as well as my netbook.

Were the old files from 64-bit Opera as well? Also, just to be sure, are you putting the restored old files into the correct folder of the new installation (as defined by Help > About Opera > Paths), and putting them there with Opera turned off?

For bookmarks, import the adr file instead just to see if there's a difference. But, it indeed sounds like you didn't put them in the right spot.
