Very slow, Hi CPU

Running Opera Dev 41.0.2329.0 and I like it.
Many bugs fixed but some new ones.
I am running Microsoft Windows 7 Professional Version 6.1.7601 Service Pack 1 Build 7601
When I get my web mail with Squirrel Mail Version 1.4.22 from http://Sonic.net two things happen:

1. It is egregiously slow to display the Inbox after viewing a message.
2. It sometimes crashed with a message about displaying the right side of a panel.
   I could not capture the screen.
   This is the very first version of Opera that has had this problem. (since at least 2009)
   I just ran a test and it took 51 seconds to display about 40 messages.
   The CPU time was never less than 8 and sometimes reach 23 in Windows Task Manager.
   The exact same test with Firefox took 2 seconds to refresh the screen.

I am also running Firefox 48.0.2 which has no problems with the web mail.

The web mail works fine and is much faster and uses much less CPU time.
