My bookmarks disappeared (lost) from the "heart menu" on Opera 39.0 on Mac

Today I got up, and all my favorite bookmarks, which I had the menu with the heart on the toolbar, have disappeared from Opera 39.0 on Mac OS 10.11.6
How and why did this happen?
How can I get them back?
