Snap links addon question.

What's the trick to using Snap Links. Most times that I select links with the left mouse button, the links are highlighted. What is the difference between clicking to highlight and drawing a selection rectangle.

I wish they made this add-on work using the right mouse button, as it does in Firefox, to make thing much easier.
