      Hi,

I am investigating deploying Opera in our environment, but am stuck at setting default preferences i.e.homepage, adblocker enabled etc. We need to ensure that some settings are set for all "new" users, other settings would be enforced, if at all possible.

I've found a file called pref_default_overrides that I have been trying to use to control these settings but it doesn't work. Or I'm not using it properly.

I've searched for documentation or help on how to do this, but I can't find anything - I'm sure it's my searching abilities, so I was wondering if anyone could point me to documentation on doing this.

Or if anyone has information on how to do this e.g. create file named xxx.yy, put it into folder xxx etc, that'd also be very appreciated.

      Thanks
      Rachel

The easy, but sort of hackish way would be to pre-install Opera as USB standalone, set it up there and then distribute such package to all users in the environment, but I understand you need a solution which involves all users' or current user installation?

Thanks Idrin. You are right, I need a standard way of managing the deployments and/or configuration. It doesn't necessarily need to be at the time of installation, it could be at user profile creation like an active setup.

Is there any documentation I've missed on what the pref_default_overrides or other files do, or how to use them?

            Thanks again
