      All of a sudden across many websites, buttons like search buttons, continue etc. look faded and weird, the amazon search button is just blank with the search icon or text not visible. Any suggestions?

        Did you disable the disk cache?

        Disabling the disk cache means you will lose webfonts which are now used to render those buttons, instead of images, because it saves the site operator one HTTP request per button.

        Of course accessibility-wise this a bad decision, because you can't specify an Alternative Text for non-rendering buttons, they simply don't show.

          No. Neither disc cache nor web fonts disabled. Thanks

            @jtsnet - I don't think that's true. I've had disk cache disabled for years.

            @laingman - Maybe a couple screenshots will help. I don't think I've ever seen what you're describing.
