Opera Mini Bookmarks Disappeared!

I'm currently running the old Opera Mini (Version 7.6) off my Moto E (Android 5.1) phone. Everything was normal when I went to bed last night, but when I woke up this morning, I found that all my bookmarks were simply GONE! I have no idea what happened to them or how to get them back.
I tried downloading the new Opera Mini onto my phone, but every time I open it, it stalls on the "Installing Opera Mini" screen, then boots me back to my home screen, saying that "Unfortunately, Opera Mini has stopped." Checking the old Opera Mini app through my settings shows that the amount of Data on it is the same as when I saw it before my bookmarks disappeared. And when I try to sign in to Opera Link on the old Opera Mini browser (thinking that it will reboot my bookmarks back onto my phone), it warns that my current bookmarks will be deleted... despite the fact that literally no bookmarks are showing up! All this has lead me to believe that the information to the bookmarks is still on my phone; I'm just unable to access it. So my question is: Is there any way to restore my bookmarks onto my Opera Mini app? Should I try adding a bookmark onto the old app, then open the new one, or would that just delete the bookmarks entirely? Or should I try moving Opera Mini to my SD card and back?
Just for the record, my phone isn't rooted... Should I try rooting it to get my bookmarks back?
