Zoom is Too Sensitive

I use an iPhone on iOS 8.3 and really enjoy using Opera Mini. However when I try to read online books via vertical scrolling, I often inadvertently zoom in which is horrible for reading flow. I'm a fast reader on a small screen and I'm pretty sure the reason it zooms is because it takes my scrolling taps to be zooming flicks. Is there a way to adjust for this besides slowing down?
