[Solved]BBC news and BBC iplayer problems in Opera 36

  • I had a spy ware virus recently which has been dealt with, but one problem remains: Even though I have reinstalled the plugins for Flash Player and Quick Time, Opera 36 will not play the video content on either BBC website. There are no warnings about missing plugins, but the various video windows on these sites remain black?
Microsoft Edge plays the content normally!
Any ideas please what may be missing?
Alternatively, is there a way to save my Speed Dial page, so that I can reinstall Opera and restore my Speed Dials?

  • The above post should read Opera 36 not Opera 32!

  • QuickTime no longer works on Chromium based browsers, as it's an NPAPI plugin.
This also affects Java and Silverlight, and Flash has to be changed to a different version which uses a PPAPI plugin.
Download the PPAPI plugin here and install it and you should be OK, at least for Flash content.

  • Thanks Dave, that solved the problem! I am grateful for your help!
