I can't seem to find it anywhere. I would like to change the default action for movies from opening in the registered program in windows to download to the downloads directory specified in settings. I enabled advanced settings, but I still don't see where all the mime types and actions are? Any help greatly appreciated.

uh yah, I am also having difficulties determining how to set automatic action for links such as magnet links for torrents,I can only save the torrent file but I would rather open it using default application directly. I assume I am missing something obvious anyone ? If this function is actually unavailable than what is the reason how long till it will become available honestly lack this basic function will turn people away from opera.

In fact magnet links do actually work but for torrent links that are simply files links or any oter regular file link there is no option to open with default app rather than downloading nor is there a choice each time to run rather than downloading, I assume it is a security mesure, for anyone that may know please do tell.

RJust discovered this glaring omission myself. I use Opera 11.64 as a rule but happened to find myself confronted by Opera 21 on a colleague's computer when I was trying to demonstrate something.
How annoying that I can't open a Word Doc in Word directly from a link on a web page
One day I hope that Opera will see fit to make their browser more acceptable to me, but the longer it goes, the more likely it'll be that I just find a different browser and get comfortable with that.

What's worse: Even if the default program would be started it wouldn't always be the thing I want. Sometimes I prefer more secure programs to open content from the web.

Having the same issue here. There are certain file types that I want to open automatically with a designated application when I download it.
Maybe someone with Chrome experience know how to resolve this?
